- About Me:
- I'm a co-founder of Bouncing for Breast Cancer and committed to improving the lives of single mums with breast cancer. Why only single mums? Surely breast cancer isn't picky and doesn't care about the social situation of women... ?
Because the rate of divorces these days is approx. 1 in 2 (or 50%), this is reflected in the number of single mums. And statistically this is again reflected in the number of women suffering from breast cancer. In short, there's a lot of mums out there who have no support from a husband to help looking after the kids, bringing home enough to pay the bills or just sharing the chores in the household. Instead, besides fighting the disease with mastectomy operations, chemo therapy and other invasive treatments, these heroines can't stop and rest but continue to look after the family during this period.
I'm thinking of the kids, too. It's hard enough for a child to be faced with a parent, suffering from a serious deisease. If it's the only parent, this must be double traumatic and the fear of loss (as already experienced once during the divorce) is back again.
Helping families of single moms is a mission and I feel blessed to be able to contribute to this effort. I hope w will grow even more and become a worldwide recognized brand, helping single mums and their under-age kids wherever the need arises, spreading our work further every year.
