About Me:
I am 34 years old and have a wonderful 8 year old little girl. I currently live with stage IV metastatic breast cancer throughout my skeletal system and also my liver. I am undergoing indefinate chemotherapy in hope of one day putting this nasty bug as bay. I live in Napanoch NY which is up in the beautiful Catskill mountains. I enjoy reading, crocheting, fishing and generally just being outdoors since it is finally nice out here.
I have just launched my website www.justyshope.org. It will include a bunch of my personal poetry and writing to hopefully inspire those visiting my site. I don't know how to link them to the page yet lol. What it does have is a better version as to who and what I am. It also lists a wonderful compialations of differrent orgaizations that I have worked with to help people affected by cancer.
It has always been my goal to find my niche and to find my place. Through my websit I think I have done just that. Now I just need to get the word out to other mom's can get help too!

PET CT SCAN RESULTS

Hi everyone! The past couple of days I have been sitting on pins and needles waiting for some very important test results. I had my quarterly PET CT scan done.
For those of you not familiar with that, it's a test using a radiactive isotope that reacts with the glucose in tumors. It's extremely effective and it is a great tool used for more advanced cancers like mine.
Well, the drumroll of the day is.....NO NEW TUMORS!!!!!!!!! For the first time in two years there are no new tumors sites anywhere… Continue

A Question For The Mom's

Howdy Ho everyone!!!!!!! I'm recovering from another treatment and feeling overall horrible about it. I have just been so tired lately I feel as if I do not know which way is up. I am doing Taxol chemotherapy, but I am also on a new drug called Avastin. It inhibits blood vessel growth so new cancer cells can not develop a way to feed and therefore can not grow into tumors. It also helps with current tumors by slowly killing off their blood supply of food.
My question...are any of the other mom's… Continue

An Image in my Mind

It's 6:15 am here. I had my chemo treatment yesterday and either the steriods have kicked in big time...or the fact that I was knocked out in bed by 7:30 pm has me awake. Wired awake. Wih a burden on my chest to release. I have to release it some where and tears are going to fall as I type, but I share so much with you all, I feel I must share this. Mind you....it's a rough draft, I feel I can't control the speed my fingers are typing at so please pardon and typos, incomplete sentences or punctu… Continue

My Little Girl

Pure gift from God.
Total unconditional, undying, unfaltering love.
Seeing so much of oneself in her grey eyes.
Sitting utterly amazed by her beauty...a smile that pulls at my heart.
Feeling her arms wrapped around me after a long day at work.
Tucking her in with hugs and kisses at bedtime.
Wishing for so much for her.
Having to nurture and love and support her so that she feels as empowered as I when she smiles at me.
The searing pain of her birth a distant faded memory.
Replaced by first steps… Continue

Hi Justy,

Just a quick note to really thank you and honour you for your continued blogs.

The feedback I have received from all the mentors who have joined the forum over the last couple of months has been phenominal. All of them have been inspired to join and help other moms just like you.

Please know that ALL the mentors on this forum have come to us because we are offering something different, because we are supporting moms in a way that I believe no other organisation out there is, and you are living proof of the benefits.

You JUSTY, are inspiring, you are trailing the way for all the other moms out there who have or will read your blogs, and in the process you are leaving a beautiful record of YOU, who you are, a legacy in writing that whether you know it or not, IS touching lives, yours, Espi's, mine, and a whole load more that we may never be aware of.

The ripples of your love of life, your zest for life, your courage, your prayers and your poetry are far reaching.

Know how much you are truly appreciated by the world.

Namaste

Hi Justina,

Happy birthday and welcome to a brand new year, and an opportunity for a fresh start.

It has been very refreshing reading your blog and seeing how you have grown. You have a beautiful essence, and a beautiful spirit. You are a mom for life, a lover of nature, an inspiring soul for all moms out there who have been presented with similar opportunities for growth.

And its wonderful to read how you are growing, having learned the lessons from the past, and how you are now blossoming and stepping into your greatness, the true identity of who you really are, free from the pain of the past, free from all those old pent up emotions that you used to store in your body which you have now had the opportunity to learn from, and now release, allowing instead for emotions to flow through you, and how you are now choosing to take those lessons and share your learnings with others, how you are now choosing to live a full life, enjoying all the gifts that nature has provided us with.

Espi is truly blessed to have a mom like you, a mom who will continue to guide her through life, a mom who knows that you can grow through the pains of the past, and come through them stronger, with a new identity and a new direction.

So being your birthday, your day of new birth, I invite you and encourage you to step fully into your new identity, to embrace all that you are, and all you will be, to allow the light that is you to shine fully and brightly for others to follow.

Happy Birthday Justy

Namaste

Hi Justina,

Firstly, a very warm welcome to the Bouncing for Breast Cancer forum.

Thank you for taking full advantage by venting your feelings and emotions in your blog posts.

These posts are invaluable in keeping us all in touch with reality, and inspire us to make the most of every day. The truth is that we all have our ups and downs, and these all contribute to the melody of life.

Please take advantage of the resources available to you from Bouncing for Breast Cancer. I know that a mentor has been allocated to you, and that you have already connected with her. We have a number of mentors all with differing backgrounds, who are also happy to answer any variety of questions you may have. The forum is the place to post these, along with such entries as your vision for how you wish the future to be, and a gratitude list.

I know that in time as more people continue to join us, and there are more moms and kids on the forum, this will be a very powerful resource for all.

Finally, I encourage you to simply pay attention to everything in life. The good and the not so good. They are all precious moments, and are the memories we create, and the stories we tell. Whilst we may not be in control of everything that happens in our lives, we do have power over how we choose to view it.

Live with passion.

Blessings,

Rich

Early detection of breast cancer means a patient has more treatment choices and a much better chance of recovery!

In some cases early detection can increase survival rates by up to 90% . Three steps for early detection of breast cancer are recommended by medical experts worldwide:
